Academic structure and programs
Istanbul Bilgi University was founded in June 1996 by the Bilgi Education and Culture Foundation as a private university. Following the principle of “Learning not for school but for life”, the university adopts an innovative, free and pluralistic approach, aiming to be a leading international educational institution that contributes to social development.
Today, the university includes 7 faculties, 3 institutes, 4 higher schools, 3 professional schools and more than 150 educational programs.

Campuses and infrastructure
The University has three main campuses:

SantralIstanbul is one of Turkey's most famous university campuses, located on the former Silahtaraga Power Plant site. Today, it is an educational, cultural and social center with modern classrooms, libraries and museums.

Kuştepe is the first campus of the university located in the Şişli district, where administrative offices and teaching facilities are concentrated.

Dolapdere Campus is a campus in the center of Istanbul, close to Taksim Square, featuring modern architectural design and recognized as one of the best university buildings in Turkey.
