Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is the first private university in Izmir, founded in 2001 by the Izmir Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation. The university offers education primarily in English, except for the faculties of Law and Health Sciences. IUE currently has approximately 7,281 students, including 184 international students from over 58 countries.

Campuses and infrastructure
IUE's main campus is located in Balçova, Izmir, and covers an area of 26,000 m². The campus is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, a library, a student center, cafes and sports halls. Wi-Fi is available on site, as well as a medical center and student transportation.
The University provides hostels with comfortable living conditions, including separate blocks for men and women, communal kitchens and recreation areas, ensuring a safe and friendly environment for students.
Student life
Student life at IUE is rich and varied. The university offers more than 50 student clubs covering academic, cultural, artistic, sporting and social interests. International festivals, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, film festivals and theatre performances are regularly held. There is also a Career Centre, a Student Support Centre and an International Office, providing support in academic and personal matters.
International relations
IUE actively participates in international exchange programs, including Erasmus+, and has more than 600 partnership agreements with universities from 65 countries. The university has twice received the "Erasmus Success Story" award from the European Commission. The university's International Office provides support to international students and organizes exchange and internship programs.
