Istanbul MEF University is a private university founded in 2012 by the İbrahim Arıkan Education and Research Foundation. The university began its educational activities in the 2014–2015 academic year and became the first university in the world to implement the Flipped Learning model in all programs.
The language of instruction at the university is English, with the exception of the Faculty of Law, where 30% of the programs are taught in English. In addition, MEF is one of the eight universities in Turkey accredited by ABET.
