History and name
Istanbul Yeditepe University is a private university founded in 1996 by the Istanbul Education and Culture Foundation (İSTEK Vakfı). The university aims to educate modern, research-driven, innovative and technologically savvy professionals who have the necessary skills to meet the needs of the modern business world. Yeditepe adheres to the principles of Kemalist ideology and aims to educate individuals with a high level of self-awareness and understanding of world culture.
The name of the university comes from the seven hills of Istanbul, symbolizing the historical peninsula of the city. Since its establishment, Yeditepe has established itself as an innovative educational institution with international recognition and a student-centered approach.
